Versatile Tray
This project started out with a plan in mind. Most plans start that way don’t they.
Then sometimes you hit a fork in the road… So what do you do —> go right 😉
This picture shows the items I planned on using to make this tray/stand.
Let’s get started:
First off, apply wood glue to the candle stand and place it to the bottom of the tray. Try to center it as close as possible. I just sort of eye balled it.
Be sure to place something with some weight on top to make sure it bonds together well.
This started off being painted an off white color – I know you can’t tell a difference at all right 🙂 Yeah – it didn’t work for me either.
I thought I’d add some brown to it to distress it a bit… The brown on the white just wasn’t working out for some reason and it just didn’t look right. You know how you have a vision for something and it really doesn’t resemble that vision AT ALL – hahaha
So I painted it all a chocolate bar brown and used the off white to distress – Yup exactly opposite than the original plan – but LOVE the way it turned out!!
The off white was applied with a smaller chippy brush using a dry brush method. Let me know if you want to see a video on how to dry brush items.
Here are a few ideas and uses.
What would you use it for?
