Rainy Days & Busy Mom Break
Today is a rainy day. It’s a nice steady, peaceful, and cool rain. The windows are open and the raindrops are falling. A great day to relax, take a nap, watch a movie or read a book.
HA! Not for this girl…Way too much going on to be able to relax. Running two businesses from home, homeschooling 2 children and keeping up with the cooking, cleaning, etc, etc, etc. Not complaining at all!! I love my life and thoroughly enjoy it all!
It is nice though to take a break here and there and enjoy the moment in time. Here are a few pictures to share today’s views with you all.
Although I could do without the humidity that follows a good rain, it sure does cool things off and provide great natural watering for the plants. I don’t know about you, but when it rains, I move all my potted plants out from under the porch to get some of the rain. The plants seem to thrive from the rainwater.
We did open up a few windows in the house to air it out & get some fresh air. It’s also fun to sit on the porch and really take it all in. My youngest and I took a few brief moments to enjoy the breeze and step out in the rain. Always great memories for us both.
We have some pretty great lightning storms sometimes. Although they can be damaging, they sure can be fascinating to see all the different shapes they light up the sky with.
It’s back to work for me. A few moments of rest and now it’s back to work. My water is set and my To Do list items are being checked off as the day progresses.
I hope you are able to take a few moments to yourself to smell the rain (or the roses) from time to time. It really does ground you and lets you take a deep breathe and clear your mind. I know us moms always have a million things going on in our heads at the same time.
What are some things you do to relax even if it’s just for a 5-minute break? Take the time and breathe, everything and everyone else can wait for 5 minutes – you need it just like the rest of us do – Keep smiling ~

Thank you for the reminder to slow down and enjoy the moment. Reading is the most relaxing for me. Especially on rainy days and a nice warm cup of coffee.

Kristi, we all need a reminder from time to time 🙂 Hope you find some time to enjoy reading and some warm coffee soon.

I’ll grab some coffee and sit and watch the birds or squirrels outside. That’s like the best way to recharge and refresh.

That sounds great Clarissa! I think we can all use a recharge now and then 🙂

A good rain, or thunderstorm can be such a great reminder to pause and step outside of your own head even if only for a few minutes. If its not to hot and sticky out I love to have the windows up during a good rainfall too.

I agree 🙂 Thanks for the thoughts.

If I happen to stumble across 5 minutes to myself, I usually just try and slow down and breathe. Try to clear my mind and not think about anything. It’s amazing what just 5 minutes can do.

I agree, just 5 minutes can be a great refresher.
