Dresser Flip

This dresser was free and it sat around for a couple of months until I could decide what to do with it.

Initially, we tried to turn it into an indoor rabbit hutch. Lil Emma here needed a bigger home. You see these hutches all over Pinterest and they look so great, keep the mess in, etc. We put in a ramp for a second level, made latching doors for the front and it was so cute!

Well come to find out, Emma wanted to chew every single piece of wood possible, laminate flooring, you name it, she chewed it! So that didn’t work – can’t have her chewing herself out to wander the house one night or eat anything that could potentially make her sick 🙂

Back to the drawing board…

For the second and final go around, we replaced the back and sides from the weather damage it had when we got the piece. Replaced the top with interlocking wood and stained it. The bottom is a 2 layer paint technique throughout to mimic wood grain. The entire piece was then sealed and ready to go. This has been used several times as a buffet for drinks, appetizers, desserts and more. LOVE the way it turned out and have received many compliments – Yay!
