Apple Crumble

Apple Crumble Recipe

Prep Time: 10-15 minutes

Cook Time: 35-45 minutes

Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

Crumble Topping

  • 2 1/2 pounds Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored, and diced into bite-size pieces)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons corn start
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Apple Filling

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Lightly spray 8 or 9 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray an set aside.

Crumble Topping:

  1. In a medium bowl combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. Whisk to combine.
  3. Add the melted butter and stir with a fork until crumbly.

Apple Filling:

  1. In a large bowl combine sugar, corn starch, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. Whisk to combine.
  3. Add in lemon juice and apples.
  4. Stir all together until fully incorporated.

Assemble and Bake

  1. Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish and distribute evenly.
  2. Sprinkle crumble topping mixture over the top of the filling
  3. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until bubbling and golden brown on top.
  4. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Serve with ice cream or whipped topping of choice.
